Biography

old picture of Donna

Lifetime word wrangler, Poet. Dweller of kitchens with an ancient history of classical professional cooking. You might think the two are worlds apart but each arena is filled with artistry, passion and so many different genres and actors, all playing a part...

Don't we always want to hang labels on everything? In a plea to communicate better, scream our identity to the rafters be heard and identified as how we see our selves as part of the world around us... yet inside those labels live a kaleidoscope of interpretations, shifting every time the vison changes hands....

I desire to write ambiguous pieces pulled from our dark corners,  that might apply to either of us. Transforming ideas, hopes and the red threads that connect us into relatable concepts... if I do write from the first perspective of I and you, even then the hope is that somewhere out there those words will fall into the mind of someone that feels a resonance - without the messy pronouns to interfere, imply one his or her has any more ownership of passion, softness or strength than another.

Living on a boat in the Pacific Northwest, still dwelling in kitchens - poetry and writing masquerade as soul medicine. The moniker - the Poetessential Muse, is a reminder that inspiration, our Muse~ is all around us... and essential to keeping me inspired and creative and full of hope.
